IO Interactive and Saber Interactive have announced HITMAN Classic Trilogy Remastered, a new collection that brings back the first three games of the Agent 47 series. It is planned to be released in 2027 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The collection includes HITMAN: Codename 47, HITMAN 2: Silent Assassin, and HITMAN: Contracts. The games were first revealed during Summer Game Fest 2026, and they will be the basis for the reboot of the franchise for a new generation of players.

The remastered edition aims to keep the original trilogy's defining elements like gameplay freedom and stealth-centric design, intact while bringing in modern technical enhancements. Besides the upgraded character models, environment enhancements, high resolution textures, better lighting, and overall smoother performances on current-gen consoles, the pack features an immediate graphics switcher that allows users to change back and forth between the classic visuals and the revamped presentment at their will.

Each title in the collection reflects a significant milestone in the development of the Hitman concept. HITMAN: Codename 47 was the first title to feature sandbox assassination gameplay that later became the series' trademark, whereas HITMAN 2: Silent Assassin improved stealth mechanics and also introduced the highly desired Silent Assassin rating. HITMAN: Contracts took the base game further into a sombre direction and presented the storyline through the psychological aspect of the characters, which makes it one of the most immersive games in the franchise. In fact, these three games together present the early stages of not only Agent 47's character but also of the stealth genre as a whole.
