Our approach

ScreenplayDaily operates from California, United States. This policy covers screenplaydaily.com, including accounts, discussions, newsletters, and communications with us. Questions about this policy can be sent to contact@screenplaydaily.com.

Information we collect

• Account details: your display name, email address, password hash, account dates, verification status, and account preferences.
• Search activity: submitted search phrases, selected content filters, and whether results were found are aggregated by day and reported over a rolling 90-day window. Older records are removed incrementally as eligible searches are logged. Search insights do not store account IDs, session IDs, or IP addresses. Live suggestion requests are not recorded in these insights. Avoid entering private information into search; hosting and analytics services may process search URLs under their own practices.
• Information you choose to provide: profile photos, discussion posts, reports, saved articles, watchlists, newsletter subscriptions, and messages you send us.
• Technical information: session identifiers, browser and device information, page activity, and information processed by hosting, security, and analytics services. Security and hosting systems may process IP addresses.

Account alert emails do not include your IP address, password, or moderator PIN.

How we use information

We use information to operate accounts, display discussions, save your selections, send requested newsletters and account messages, respond to inquiries, prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and understand site activity. Advertising services may use browser identifiers and activity to deliver or measure ads.

What other readers can see

Your display name, profile photo, and published discussion posts can be visible to other readers. Avoid posting private information. Your account email address, saved articles, and watchlist are not displayed publicly as part of your profile.

Cookies & analytics

Session cookies keep you signed in. ScreenplayDaily uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. The homepage, content listing pages, and trailer pages load Google Ad Manager advertising scripts. Article pages currently do not load display ads. The bio page includes a Sovrn shopping gallery. These providers may process visitor information under their own privacy practices.

YouTube embeds and external links are also subject to the provider’s privacy practices. Read how Google uses information from partner sites and Google’s Analytics opt-out information.

You can manage cookies through your browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in. The site does not currently change its tracking behavior in response to the browser’s Do Not Track setting. Third-party providers may have their own privacy controls; this policy does not replace those controls.

Service providers & disclosures

Hosting and email services, including Hostinger, process information needed to run the site and deliver messages. Analytics, Google Ad Manager, the Sovrn shopping gallery, and embedded-video providers process information through their services. External links, including any editor-added affiliate links, may lead to services with their own privacy practices. We may disclose information when required by law or when needed to investigate abuse, protect accounts, or defend legal rights.

We will update this policy if the advertising providers or their data practices change.

Newsletters & account messages

Newsletter subscriptions use email confirmation. Confirmed subscribers receive scheduled editions on Mondays and Thursdays when editions are sent. Use the unsubscribe link in a newsletter to stop future editions. Optional sign-in and sign-out alerts can be managed in your account preferences. Verification, recovery, and other security messages may still be sent when needed.

Retention & security

We retain information while needed to operate the service, respond to requests, maintain security, or meet legal obligations. Account email delivery logs are subject to a 90-day cleanup policy. Other records, correspondence, provider records, and backups may have different retention periods.

Account deletion removes linked account data and marks matching newsletter subscriptions unsubscribed. Some logs, correspondence, and backups may remain for the purposes above. We use password hashing, protected sessions, and restricted moderator access, but no storage or transmission method guarantees complete security.

Your choices & California requests

You can update your profile, manage saved items, edit or remove your own discussion posts, change email preferences, sign out of other sessions, and request account deletion through your profile.

For access, correction, deletion, or advertising privacy requests, email contact@screenplaydaily.com with the subject “Privacy request.” Include enough information to identify your request; do not send your password. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing account information.

Depending on which laws apply, California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, or delete information, opt out of sale or sharing, and receive nondiscriminatory treatment for exercising applicable rights. These rights and exceptions depend on the law and the circumstances. See the California Attorney General’s privacy information.

Children’s information

If you believe a child has provided personal information to ScreenplayDaily, contact us so we can review the information and take appropriate action.
