After years of uncertainty about the future of the much-loved MMORPG, ArenaNet has formally declared the launch of Guild Wars 3. The new game, which was announced at Summer Game Fest 2026, reportedly is a cutting-edge transformation of the MMO category, emphasizing on discovery, player autonomy and community-stimulated escapades. It has been disclosed that Guild Wars 3 will be available on both Pc and Playstation 5, which will be the first time for a mainline game in the series to be on a PlayStation platform. It is also reported that beta testing is set for Fall 2027, which will enable the fans to get their initial hands-on with the upcoming chapter of Tyria.

According to rumors, the game takes place around a thousand years prior to the very first game in the series, creating a starting point in the lore of the world of Tyria and its magical continent known as Orr.
