SEGA has officially announced Crazy Taxi: World Tour, which is big news as it brings back the beloved Crazy Taxi franchise. SEGA announced the new game at the Xbox Games Showcase 2026. This time, the game stays true to the insanely fun, fast-paced arcade nature of the original series but also takes the players on a tour all around the world! The official trailer was full of breath taking driving scenes, heart stopping jumps and of course, the return to the spotlight of Axel, the fan favorite character and face of franchise. The game's release is planned for 2027.
According to SEGA, Crazy Taxi: World Tour is about Axel investigating a mysterious group of masked villains that stole his taxi. The trailer showed missions that took players to several different places of the world which is a major change from the original game's structure of playing in one city only. Although it still keeps the wild fun and craziness of driving that was the hallmark of the previous ones, it seems like this new version is going to be more story-oriented.
